Newberry, with the recent annexation of property, now reaches to I-26, which has served as a catalyst for industrial development in recent years.  Substantial new commercial investment has been experienced along the SC 219 corridor, the main highway, linking the interstate with the central business district. 

Revitalization efforts downtown have been highly successful.  Progressive attitudes and actions mixed with genuine concerns for the preservation of the city’s rich heritage and quality of life continue to keep Newberry high in the rankings of the most livable and appealing small towns in America.
